It looked like the prime minister was not fully aware of NATO

Eduard Abrahamyan and Areg Galstyan on PM's visit to Brussels, opportunities and obstacles in relations with NATO.

The visit of Armenian Prime Minister  to Brussels was quite important  but it looked like the prime- minister was not fully aware of NATO's capabilities,- mentions  Eduard Abrahamyan, Leicester University research fellow in the department of International Relations and Security. "Armenia-NATO relations are very passive today. There are no trends and perspectives of those relations",-underlines analyst.

In this context, Abrahamyan says that for NATO there are no red lines and recalls NATO’s Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller’s words: "It is completely up to Armenia to decide the intensity of relations with NATO".

Areg Galstyan, head of "The Armenian Interest" Research Center notes: "NATO is undoubtedly interested in deepening ties with the Post-Soviet states, including Armenia. But we all know   position of the official Moscow. Moscow perceives NATO enlargement with Post-Soviet countries as a threat to the national interests and while talking about Armenia, it doubles",- says Areg Galstyan.
