The human being is defeated in any war: filmmaker David Matevosyan

The healthiest person, who ever got through the war, in the end, is a crippled person.

The healthiest person, who ever got through the war, in the end, is a crippled person.

The workplace of the director of the films “The Enemies”, “We are ...”, “Shock the World” Davit Matevosyan is not the film set today; though there are many ideas and film projects, there is no funding. “The most desirable thing for me is to make a film, but it is hardly possible, taking into consideration our reality,” Matevosyan says.

One of the most famous and successful works of Matevosyan is “The Enemies”, a short live action about “winning and losing”. The unique message of the movie is to be a human. The film has received criticism both from Armenia and Azerbaijan. “I wanted to say that in any war, the human being is defeated, no matter, he wins or loses, survives or is being killed. The healthiest person, who ever got through the war, in the end, is a crippled person. We are all crippled in that sense," David Matevosyan emphasizes.
