Armenia and US sanctions against Russia from Suren Sargsyan’s perspective

US sanctions, Russian weapons and Artsakh conflict

The US will not impose sanctions against Armenia and Azerbaijan for the purchase of Russian weapons if the USA is interested in the regional stability. Political analyst Suren Sargsyan adds that otherwise the balance of arms and ammunition will be violated. “Azerbaijan has an opportunity to acquire weapons from other markets, including Turkish, Israeli, and Pakistani, while we have just Russian one. The US is friendly towards Armenia, and I believe that they will never take such a step so that the turmoil starts in the region, from which Armenia will suffer. Otherwise, the situation will become extremely explosive,” he stresses.

As for the Russian-American relations as a whole, Suren Sargsyan notes that Russia and the United States have always been rivals, and for a very short time - opponents. Russia is considered one of the countries that are challenging the values of the United States, so the sanctions are also increasing against Russians.

“Today, in fact, we are dealing with a unipolar world, the United States is the only superpower in the world, with all its components and attributes. Today, we do not have a problem of bipolarity. If today there are poles in the world, then not two, but three. We cannot underestimate the role of China, although it makes no claim to it, we understand how serious its influence on many regions of the world,” Sargsyan notes.
