They spent 20 billion but failed to make any progress: Vagharshak Harutyunyan on The Four-Day War

The number of victims as a result of subversive penetration attempts of the enemy was sharply reduced.

Two years after “April War”, former Defense Minister of RA Vagharshak Harutyunyan analyzing the military events, notes that the Azerbaijani side registered some success only during the first night, and then when the Armenian defense plan was put into effect, the enemy suffered great losses without solving the main problem.

“They’ve spent 20 billion within five years, acquired so many weapons, but could not succeed on the line of contact. And if we calculate how much they lost and what they got in return ... it's not at all effective,” Vaharshak Harutyunyan says.

The former defense minister notes that after the Four-Day War the Armenian side changed its tactics, due to which the number of victims as a result of subversive penetration attempts of the enemy was sharply reduced.
